Exhausted by the over-hyped “Road to Hana”, we settled that evening at the Ho’okipa Beach. From the bluff, Ho’okipa, which means hospitality, is a pretty good and famous spot to watch some of the best surfing in Maui. It’s much better down at the beach, if you are lucky, you could see Green Turtles basking. During winters the waves could apparently be massive. This day, the cloud canvased most of the sky and the calm waves were hitting the moss covered rocks. We ended the day with some good pizza at the near by Paia!
